Your personal opinion, what to get

I'm sure you see these threads a lot, but I am at a complete loss on what to get. I have a PA BB1250.1 amp, enough room for a 6cft box (currently got one 5.3cft @32hz), as well as the know how to build another one. But the problem is, what to buy? I'm on a rather low budget currently. I'd really like to stay under $200.00, but can stretch to $300.

What would you recommend? I've always been more partial to 2x 12" subs, vs 1. But at my current budget, I'd be willing to look into just getting 1 for now. I'm looking for something along the lines of SQL, but would like noticeably louder then most lower end SQ subs.

DC level 4 15 or 18. with a 200 dollar budget its gonna be tough finding a pair of subs

i have used ssd 12s and one 15. if u can get one 5 go for it. i think u can get some lower rms 12s and like it. how about one sundown sa-12 or 2 sa-8s tune to like 32 . small box easy to build hmmmm

What is the potential of 1 or 2 15"/12" ssd's, and the Q's, on a meter.

I had a 15 and never got metered, i only had other car aduio friends that have done a few comps tell me that my 1 15 ssd tuned at 32 was probably hitting 138ish off a kicker zx1000.1 on regular music. So that could be completely wrong and stupid its just what a few of my friends seemed to think. It will also depend on the box, ported/sealed. Your electric, witch you should be fine, the ga of wire you use, 4ga would be fine, and sealed trunk or non sealed trunk. I have heard that sealing your trunk off will gain alot of output. I could be totally off on everything i just said. someone correct me if i am wrong please. Just throwing some info out.

Well it's be in the back on a ext. cab S-10. Full dynamat (2 layers on the floor, 1 on the doors/back/roof). Big 3 done, 2 runs of 0AWG wire to a second battery, 200amp alt. Little over the edge with the wiring for the wattage I run, but I figure it couldn't hurt.

Currently I am running running 1 RFP-1212 sealed @ 1.30ft3 @ 370w (had 2 but the surround started pulling away on the one), and this one sounds sort of like a wave type sound when turned up about half (all bass enhancement flat). It's sort of a paper wave sound, assuming something is wrong with the cone, figuring since I got them for free & their age, I don't really want to spend the money re-coning them.

I use run 2x sony xplods (...I know), 6ft3 box @ 32hz @ 1000W to them. They lasted a surprisingly long time (about 3 years) for how hard I was pushing them over what they recommended (250w).

Mainly I want something defiantly louder then both setups I mentioned there, but not a pure SPL monster.

And how to the SSD's compare to the Q's?

Your setup was probably louder than they were guessing. My Death Row 15 does a 137.2 with music on the TL at the dash. I did a 139.2 on tones, same placement. This is in a 2000 Dodge Neon off of an RF BD500.1.

To the OP, it's a shame you can't swing 350ish. With the power you have, a single Incriminator Death Row would be killer, 15 or 18. You've got enough room for either.

Someone is selling 2 American Bass 12s in classifieds for I believe 230$ shipped, as good as you will find at that price
