Sundown SA-12 or Image Dynamics ID12v3?

I bought my son IDQv3 10s. He has a Mustang coupe and they sound great and get plenty loud. They are in a 1.2 cub per sub box and are run by a SAZ1000. Very loud for a trunk car.

I run 4 SA8s in a 3 cub box tuned to 32hz, on a SAZ1500. I have a hatch. I get quite abit louder then he does but his sounds alot better on rock then mine does.

I love both setups but i would go with the ID for more of a music feel.

I'm not talking about the idq's though.

They are going in a camaro. Hatchback also.

I just dont want to order the sa12's and.they sound like my old kickers. I want.cleaner sound this time while being loud

I'll check into the Dayton HO's like mentioned.

What are they similar to? I love the w6v2 sound, but I'm not paying that much. If I could have the loudness like a Kicker CVR - Alpine Type R, but have the SQ like a w6v2 I would be happy.

Do the Daytons sound really good? Loud enough?

The nice thing about HOs is that they can do fine in a 0.75cu ft box, and they're relatively cheap. I'd buy one dual chamber 1.5 cu ft sealed box, stuff it with polyfill put two Dayton HOs in there. This could give you good SQ and decent output capability as well. Looking at online prices, this costs just a little over what IDQv3 is sold for.

I'm leaning towards the Dayton HO's, but been reading about TC Sounds. Probably still go with the HO's.

I noticed they only come in 4ohm, which ***** because my amp is only 787rms @ 4ohms & 1114rms @ 2ohms. I was wanting to give 2 12" HO the 1114rms.

I'm sure they won't sound great with only 787rms. Do they happen to come in SVC? Probably not...

I plan on getting a bigger amp later, probably sundown 1500D.

But, if they only come in 4ohm DVC, how poor will they sound with 787rms?

I already have a custom built box for the Camaro that I paid a lot of $ for, so I can't just get 1 or change the enclosure.

If it won't work for now, what subs are comparable to HO's?

Here's the box.

According to the site, it's 1.1cf each.

I really want the Daytons, but my amp isn't perfect for them. I don't plan on getting a new amp until later in the future. A few months or so. Will 787rms to both be good until then? I figure in a hatchback like that it would be all right. But then again that's enough power for just 1 HO. =/

i want mainly sq. i want a sub that will sound good, get loud, and be amazing on kickdrums.

i've read the sa is more of a spl sub.

idk who ur listening to but that's just not true..

intact is designed to sound excellent..

the biggest difference is it does great ported as well which alot of those so called SQ subs spiders are big ideal for it nor are the designed for it because the misconception is ported doesn't sound good..

if you could read the dumax you wouldn't hesitate to grab one..

very few manufactures you coils that can handle power compression better for it's power rating not only that but they use a shorting ring that also acts like a heatsink..

the spiders last a he'll of alot longer as well..

the Dayton is a nice woofer but I'm sorry it's just not engineered as well as the sa..

After a couple days of break in, I can give now give a little advice on the SA's. I am sure it i isn't totally broken in. The amp I have is way underpowered. It isn't really boomy like a kicker but it definitely has more physical presents in the car that my old IDQ. It will give you a soft back message. It isn't quit as musical as the IDQ but that isn't the speaker your looking at so I can't say what the base ID speaker sounds like.
