latly my sub has been cutting out while driving. not completly but it would be almost inaudible. the amp will still be on (not hot or in protect) and it will be making almost no power. other times itll work fine for ~10 minutes but then itll slowly get quieter.

i took the DMM out today. my battery stays at a steady 12 volts (taken from the amp terminals). when i first probed the speaker outs, it was right around 30vac then quickly dropped to ~5vac. i didnt touch any thing. gains , bassboost , ssf all stayed the same. i then tried adjusting everything and i still couldnt get the voltage to go above 5vac. even with the gain turned all the way up it still was around 5.something volts. \

the speaker is fine, it reads .9 - 1.0 ohms. connections are fine. i do not have any severe voltage drop. as far as i know , its nothing on MY part. but im going to put it in my gf's car today and see if it does the same thing.

hopefully Jacob reads this and has some suggestions. i need bass. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

neither have i. im very confused.

i didnt even think to check the pre-outs. how would i do that? one probe to the rca and ground the other?

it may even be the head unit, it has been acting up alot. but around 4pm ill throw it in the gf's car and see if its something in my truck causing this.

i just probed the rca's and didnt get any reading, but the sub still moves. its hard to keep the probes still on the rca's. maybe i did it wrong? would it be AC or DC? i tried both.

i can try the pre outs on the HU its just a pita to get to.

still nothing. ran 40, 50 and 60hz tones and got nothing. sub still moves some but not like it should.

im really hoping its just the head unit. itll give me an excuse to get another. everything in my gf's car is pretty new and has no problems whatsoever so when she gets here i can see if itll work with her stuff.

im sure she will love the amp when i put it in her car so i may be after another 1000d soon, lol.

it was the head unit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif !

looks like ill be getting a new one soon.

thanks again , for the help.
