I know porter is better, but space is limited. Will one of these subs perform decently in a sealed box and if so how much space do they need? Sorry if this is beaten to death...

No, its not suited for sealed, its not what its geared for. Go with a 6.5 ported instead.

Back in the day the did a great 8 test on a Nissan forum by a high end SQ guy ..with 8 fairly high end subs in a compact sealed box for best SQ and low end ..I’m thinking on about 500 rms ..and DD 1508 won hands down even though it was considered as a ported only sub ...so you never really know till you experiment ..

Ran an Aq/Soundqubed SDC2.5 in a sealed box just to see how it sounded after talking it over and getting an enclosure recommendation from customer service and it sounded very good. Obviously not the output it can achieve ported but it sounded good. Not the train wreck most people would try to convince you it would be. Let your ears tell you if it will work.

If you are wanting to run sealed why not just go with the sd3 since it was designed for sealed boxes
