Sundown audio v4???

I just purchased a SA v4 8inch sub. I have a T-Line box that was used for a kicker L series and the box is pretty big. The dimensions are 3ft In length x 2ft width x 17" in height.. I'm just going to buy an MDF board off home depot and do the cut out, but my concern about this is if the box is a little too big for the sub? Should I give it a go and see what results I get? Or just simply make a new box?

The sub is going to be powered with a XTerminator 4000D monoblock amp rated at 1500W RMS at 1ohm. Is it a good go for it or no?

** the specs on the the kicker box said to get a 2.1sq enclosure so i don't know if I did the math correctly but the box ended up like that and yes it bumped hard. Would actually surprise you to know it was being handled with an L3 **

Size is the last thing you worry about. If you built and designed a T line , you'd know that they are subwoofer TS parameter specific. The cone area aka SD of a square sub is completely different from a round sub which will throw every number off in that box. Build a proper box for it.

yes i agree as i seen a video on youtube of some guy bumping two 4 inch subs and he got a small window flex, After building the box for the kicker i purchased i was stunned on the bass responce cause even when testing right when i put the last part of the wood which is the top sheet. I had first tested the sub with a kicker 250.1 at 4ohms and even though it was in the middle of my driveway ( as shown in the pic i provided ) the car doors rattled. This is talking about the box being 5-7 feet away with just 250 watts.

Then i got the Xtermoiinator and that's a whole different story but the box itself with just a 400 watt speaker. it was busting some bass and even had a guy ask me what type of sub it was and when i showed him he just laughed. 1 kicker, huge *** box and he just gave me a handshake.

Is put a new baffle on and throw the sundown 8 in there and see how it sounds before go building a new box
yeah that's what i want to do first and just not spend extra cash if the box will sound any good with an 8 inch. if its a good sound responce then ill keep, but i first wanted to ask of what you guys think cause thats my first box built and my first sub that i purchase for a box i built. I dont consider myself an expert but its better to ask other with greater experience about what will be easier to do

It says EV3 but as I read it says EV4 and as I receive it tomorrow I'll post images and we'll all find out what it is.

E-8 v.5:

Thanks to our experience with 8” woofers dating back to 2008 the fourth generation E-8 offers levels of performance once reserved for significantly more expensive woofers. If you are looking for an 8" driver to perform great at lower wattages (200-300 watts) in ported boxes at a great price the E-8 v.4 is exactly what you are looking for and is unmatched in its price class.

The E-8 v.4 is built around the same motor and coil used on the larger E v.2 series woofers. These proven parts are mated up to a strong, high clearance stamped steel frame and competition grade soft parts. Each part of the driver has been hand selected & tested to give you the ultimate in budget bass reproduction from a tiny ported enclosure. The fourth generation E-8 is far-and-away the best performing E-8 we have ever released and one of the best 8” woofers money can buy.

Features & Technology:

Xmax = 14mm one-way by 70% BL

RMS Power = 300-watts

Vented magnetic gap

Solid Pole piece with chamfered edges for increased air powered voice coil cooling

Black Aluminum 2” voice coil former for superior heat dissipation

High Temperature copper voice coil wire

Spring Loaded Terminals

Stitched-On Tinsel Leads to prevent fatigue and failure

High strength stamped steel frame

Optimized for small, ported enclosures

I know what I purchased since i do my research to know what I'm buying. All I did was ask a question if the box was good for the sub and if it wasn't for me to build a new one. Nothing else was asked
lol I struck a nerve. You sound confused....like a lost little boy.

If I bought something, i would know what I bought.

As for the box see if @CSCStang can help ya out with one.
No lol you didn't confuse me cause I was
Deciding from like 4 different subs and I spent a few hours trying to see which one would give me better sound from that price range. And it turned out that the sundown was cheaper so I bought it

If the box doesn't turn out then I'll build a horn box mixed some t-line in it. I'll see what I can come up with as I want to be able to make it sound louder than it looks. I also got it today and the box said " E8 v.5.” So it wasn't the V.4 nor V.3

And I also thought since most of you have more experience with audio electronics i'd come here. I thought ill be able to get a more professional suggestions rather than bullshit but I think I was wrong.
