Best Sub For Daily SPL

My little brother wants a sub that will beat his truck to pieces and when its broke down, build it back and smash it again and again, in other words he want s a **** sludge hammer wielded by Thor him self, i am knowledgeable abt SQ subs, but not SPL so please enlighten me on what SPL sub i should recommend, he is currently dead set on 2 12 inch Kicker L7s, me being a hater said no ******* way, you can get so much better for that price (me thinks it, but me honestly doesnt noes it) ive kinda wanted to recommend a single bad *** DD, but he is dead sety on 2 because he thinks it will be SOOOOOOO much louder, even tho ive constantly told him a bad *** box will make more of a difference than a 2nd sub.

so my question fellas is:

What PAIR of Subs for Under 800 Will be the best duo for SPL?

More like give us the space he wants to give up in height x width x length and we will let him know what his choices are.
ahh i currently have no idea how big his truck is lol, id assume he wants to stick with 12 inchers

EDIT: im dumb, your refering to how big or small the box can be, to find the sub best suited for that space

Yup, if he doesnt have enough space, hes not gonna get loud cramming two 12s in a 2 cubic foot box. Or if he has loads of space, he can do two 18s and go bonkers.

Those L7's won't really shine unless they are in a big *** box

I was using almost 5cf for a 15" back in the day

you could go with just about any decent sub anyone recommends in this thread and most likely do better than the L7's (not that they are bad because they can get stupid loud)

Why in the hell would he want a Kicker L7 ? The 12 inch models requires the airspace you would normally give a 15 inch, it uses the cheapest Chinese off the shelf parts as possible, and its priced so high that you can get a USA built subwoofer for the same price....... (tell your friend to read that and see if he still wants one).

Not enough information to recommend subs (what electrical upgrades has he made ? What amplifier is going to power these subs ? How much feet does he have to work with ?).
