I was wondering why this thread was so long, but then I saw that most of it was pointless posts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
BUT, seeing as how Sundown rates all of their amps at 12 volts where as other companies rate theirs at 14.4 says something about the company in general. No need to fluff up the ratings when the amplifier performs so well. And whether or not people on here believe it, amplifiers do make a difference in how your speakers sound. I know that last sentence has spawned major debates and/or massive threads but if you don't believe me, grab a Rockwood 100x2 amplifier and then swap it out for something like a Sundown 100x2. Even if the amps "bench" at the same power levels (or you tuned down the SA to do the same power) you would hear a noticeable difference.
I ditched my Olympus for a proto 4 channel SA amplifier (which is now in production I believe) that is rated at HALF the power because it sounded so much better. The midrange and midbass on the SA amp is
that much better.
But, to be honest, if some people are
so much more concerned about price over performance, then let them do what they feel is necessary. It's no sweat off of my nuts because that's their loss, not mine. *edit* I don't mean to have that "I don't care attitude" but the internet craze of price price price has got a lot of people passing up quality components based off of numbers.
And PS:
http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com sells the SAZ's authorized, officially, with lots of federalihood, all of that jazz.
