I'm looking into buying two new subs for my Lincoln town car.... I recently blew my kicker l7 12 solobaric. I want to run two subs this time and was thinking of getting two l5. Solobarics. I read some great reviews about sundown audio 12s and I'm thinking of getting the instead of the kickers... I have ft t10000bd mono amp that I want to run at 1 ohm to push the two 12s.... What do you guys think... I mainly listen to rock, country, metal type music so I'm going to run a sealed encloser... Thanks

You don't have to put them in a sealed enclosure to listen to rock and metal. A well made ported box will sound better and get louder especially with your choice of subs. And you've got plenty of space in that Towncar. I'd go the Sundown route any day. Especially over the L5's. Kicker had a lot of problems burning up coils. Hence why they stopped making them and went to the L3. You might not have enough wattage at 1000 to run 2 Sundowns to their full potential though but I believe that Rockford t is underrated.

The rf birthsheet said at 1 ohm it ran somewhere over 1200w rms... I can't remember the exact number... That's exactly what happen to my l7... I fried one of the voice coils..... I lock up 2 of them before..... But I think I'm gonna do the S.A.

People were blowing them because 95% of Kicker users are noobs who don't know what they are doing. The L5 didn't sell very good because there wasn't enough of a distinction between it and the L7, thats why the L3 has lesser specs and performance.

So if ran two S.A. 12s in a ported box you think it would still get very tight bass like kick drum and bass guitar ..... Should I consider running 10s for tighter bass response..... Also if I run a ported box how many cubic feet per speaker.....
