sundown 3k or stetsom 4k2d?

i dare to be different, so i'd get the stetsom.

idk my last amp would drop to 9.2 volts and never fryed ...steve the north american rep said himself that below 10v that the amp will most likely burnup...hes doneit himself...i have nothing aganst thair amps but for what hes trying to do with it i just dont think it would be worth the money

the just get some better electrical, if your voltage dropped to 9.2 you had some problems

So u guys have daily systems that drop below 10 volts?

Thats just a poor electrical system. You cant blame an amplifier if it fails below 10 volts.

I've used quite a few Stetsom amps for daily, and none of them have ever failed me.

i've only seen 1 clamped test of the 4k2d and it put out 3099 at a rise of 4 ohms.

You have to give any amp the proper current.

IDK about the Stetsoms but I run a Sundown SAZ-3000D at .5 ohm daily and it has never complained once. I cant wait to hook up my second one once I pull it out of "storage"

dtbrown did a clamp test and got over 5k from it

3100 watts from it is pretty good seeing that its rated 2800 rms @ 4ohms.

This weekend was the first time I finally got to test the 4k2d on good electrical from another person car and we got 5000w 12v running it a little less then 1ohms rising to 3-4ohms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'll admit it's not the most efficient amp on the planet but for size that totally makes up for it in my opinion. Even with minimal electrical like you see here over 3000w at 4.5ohms after rise is still crazy. Besides the fan being a little noisy it's the craziest best sounding little amp I've every tested

FYI- Says 3-4 ohms. So I would not call it a test, but a guesstimate. I would like to know THD at rated.

EDIT-Actually, I have a good friend who can do some extensive testing on these. I will grab one and see exacts.

Since the 3000D would have to be purchased used or refurbished I would guess the 4k2d is also going to be a good bit more expensive... so my question is, do you have a budget ?

Also... the 4k2d, as stated earlier, is a 2 ohm amp so is not directly comparable.

it would be a 100 dollar difference between the 2. also i understand but once the 3000 is wired down, it should put out close power shouldn't it? wired to around .5
