sundown 1500d

Yeah man, i just got mine this week and it looks exactly the same and it is brand new, your fine man, Sundowns WANG! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bowdown.gif.b85b23b82970bd22fb6b549c3392f016.gif

This glue would be more for "trauma" then anything. They do this on most mobile equipment when the components are large or have a large amount to weight to allow the boards to pass their speced drop tests. This actually shows quality, I would be worried if there was such a large component with out some type of bracing.

The only thing that would be negative about this is if you have to have the amp repaired then it may be difficult to change the components that are glued.

not trying to thread jack but is the sundown 1500d amp 0.5 ohm stable?
yes

its only under warranty if you have an extra battery and a HO alt, or something like that, or you use it for 2 mags //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The glue is normal. It holds the heavy transformer in place so rattling doesn't break the solder joint over time. Those transformers have quite a bit of copper wire on them, thus a good bit of weight, imagine if they were just solder and the amp was mounted on a vertical surface... now say you hit a huge bump in your car... use your imagination //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Heat is a also non-issue for these amps at any normal load. The transformers operate well within tolerance even after extended periods of time.

Hope that fully answers your question!
I think this guy would know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
