Im putting a small budget system together at the moment, and needed some input. I have a pair of Soundsplinter RL-ps 15s im trying to power (dual 4) and I wanted to know which amp you guys feel would push the subs better?

I know that they are both more that capable, and I have owned both in the past, but I just wanted some more opinions on the subject. I know the RL-ps are efficent, but would I really notice a big difference feeding it 1200w each from the 2500d vs the 800w or so from the Sundown.

Both amps are around the same price used, and would prob require around the same amount of upgrades to the factory electrical system. I dont like doing these types of threads (this vs that) but I seriously wanted some input to make a final decision. Thanks.

If I had those subs (which I've never owned them) I would run the Orion. More power for the buck and the speakers can take it. I would think there would be a big difference in the 400 watt variance. Since the electrical is going to need to be upgraded you say, anyway, might as well go for the most you can.

BTW I own the Sundown and love it too.

hi i used to own a Ferrari and a hond civic. i can get them for the same price. what do you guys think i should get. OP your a douch. if you owned both then you know what was better for you. i doubt you owned them or you wouldnt be asking this question. get some headroom *****

There really is only one question here to ask... do you care about a warranty?

If not, then the Orion is a more powerful amp and can be had cheap used.

If you do want a warranty and support, then the 1500D is probably the way to go.

jake, have you ever actually tested a 1500 to see what they do for power? I would assume you have, just curious.
I have and so have probably 50 or so other people //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I post some testing done by third parties on my forum for 12v and 18v systems:

If you have a DVC 4 ohm, then how are you only getting 1200 watts from the 2500d? At 2 ohms they do 1700 watts. I agree with Jacob... if you are worried about warranty and service, get a Sundown. If you just want power and are pretty good to your equipment the Orion is a better buy. Just don't plan on running the 2500d much below 1 ohm and you should be fine.
