Sun Down Vs Sound Stream

dude try out the new btls.
Think about it, they just came out with the new motor. that looks freakishly badass

also since when does sundown make subs?????????????? lmao
btl is good but arent they 450 shipped or some shit like that im getting good prices on all this stuff so yeah fi hasnt given me the prices i wanna hear. sundown subs are the chit

12kw daily rofl
6kw is NOT 1200A draw. If you can sustain 12v, its only 715A playing 0db sine waves. Don't see where you get the extra 40%. If you get the alternators and batteries to back it up, you can lower that an extra 100A to 615 @ 14v.
exactly what i thought....

Ok , I dont just need people blabbing about something they dont know or taking a guess . The woofers of choice is going to be , 1 Soundstream XXX 15 off A SAZ3000d or 2 SunDown Night shade 15's OFF A SAZ3000D . Now i am a bigg fan of SD, but i know the XXX will take 6000 watts in the future. The only reason i am considering the xxx is becuase in the future if i want to go 12,000 watts i can strap 2 3000d's to each xxx woofer.

Well bro I can't lie I never heard the nightshades B4 so I cann't comment on their performance but if the nighthades are built with the same quality as their amps then they should be bad as hell also. Now the sondstream XXX... Wowzers:eek:... Those subs are wickedly nasty.... I heard a pair of these subs running off soundstream XXX-6500d and all I can say is OMFG! I see why Pete k from team toxic bass running these in his car. My vote is for the soundstream XXX.

Man that avatar be banging. Looks at all those highs and...highs!

In all reality though 2 7kds would just be too much for daily, I used to be obsessed with getting as many watts as I could fit in a 2 door hatchback //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif but for daily, would I really need it? No. I went from wanting to do 8 12s, to 2 18s and I am more than happy I decided that. I think I just wanted to say I was the loudest or had the most watts out of the 50 car clubs down here, and I wasn't in one..lol. Finally decided I didn't care what others though, I want a system for me, with items I wanted in it that I could listen to all day and still impress people at the local car shows.

to the OP, it all depends on how you look at it. I wanted the watts/big system to impress others. I decided I'd rather be happy myself than worrying about others.

Anything can get loud, how loud.. is up to you in the end.

Kove, I agree with him bro. Whatever you`do should be for you period. I have the two DD3515's I wanted to increase my bass buy adding two more DD3515's. I ran into a little money problem so i didn't get them. Wich was a good thing because the kind of bass I want to put in my trunk two more DD3515's subs isn't enough output for me. So knowing that I want serious output and I love DD subs. The only logical thing for me to do is continue saving my money like I am and buy a pair of Z's. If it takes me a week a month or a year to save and get a pair of Z18's

or three Z15's and run about 8,000 watts to each sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif . Depending on wich setup I go with I might not do all that power maybe like 4,000 watts rms. I read a few post in this thread that no sub can handle rms 3,000 watts daily well these DD Z should hold that and some rms daily. Kove listen homie take the advice you gave don't rush the project. Bro do whatever makes you happy and what your pockets allow because it's your money and your car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW I WANT JAKE TO MAKE A 5kw amp
I'm working on a bigger amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I don't have an ETA yet, though - but its in the works.

I gave a chance to get a 5k amp early and it didn't fly. So I'm not sure how popular it would really be.

The Nightshade in it's stock setup was optimized for 1500-watts. There are a handful of guys already doing low 150s with two of the 15s and 1500-watt each in daily setups. Thats pretty darn loud and will permanently damage you hearing as it is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They can be re-coned for ~3kw or so "daily" * with longer coils and stiffer spiders... but for a daily setup its not going to get you all that much louder due to power compression and other factors.

* - I put "daily" in quotes since I doubt they would like a 3kw sine wave for an hour straight, so I still wouldn't call it a 3kw driver... but running a 3000D on music on one with the upgrades would be fine.

Even Meade doesn't listen to his system any where near max potential for long periods of time, 'daily'. Those huge RF amps aren't even designed to put out that ridiculous amount of power for very long (less than a minute iirc).
I beleive you are incorrect here. In his truck he runs the power series t4001 amps. In his friends truck is where the t15k is that you are thinking of
