ive been looking all around for at least 9 months at a lot of different subs but i can never stick to one that i want to buy. im not experienced with any subs and i would want to know what my best bet is. the only think i have to worrry about when picking the sub is how much it cost. i woudlnt want to spend more than 300 per sub and im looking for both sq and spl. i have lots of room and options but, im trying to stick to buying 2 12's.

can anyone out there that is experienced suggest some subs for me to buy? Thank you!

PSturmer, I was checking out your system and its exactly what Im in the process of purchasing. Why do you use seperate boxes for daily and comps? Im guessing the comp box is louder but can you damage the setup if you use it daily? Also are both amps necessary? I was just gonna run 1 brutus. I dont want to have to do too much electrical work. Although I do want a boomin @ss system. Help me out?

i like how cheap the alpine type r's are, but i would like something that has more sq and spl or at least spl. because i can get 2 of the type r's for less than $300. i am willing to spend more than $300 on just 2 subs....

XXGreatDane, I suggest the MTX SLH-T7512X2-D Sledge Hammer 12" 1600 Watt

@ 2 Ohms Dual Loaded Sub Box with slots. It's $559 on Woofersetc.com

To power that those subs I recommend the Rockford Fosgate T8002 which is rated at

800 watts x 1 channel @ 2 ohms, which is exactly what the subs require. The amp costs $485 also on Woofersetc.com Both items above are brand new and come with a 1 year warranty. It's also a good idea to buy a 1 Farad capacitor for the amp. Good Luck.

thank you slamsession, i am deffinetly leaning towards those subs and i shouldnt have a problem powering them either.. what would be the comparison of

MTX SLH-T7512X2-D vs. 2 alpine type R's??
