Suggestions for a Kia Cadenza

Hi guys...

I've been searching, reading threads, watching youtube and googling about subwoofers.

I'm looking for some subwoofers and would be very interested in your opinions.

Vehicle: Kia Cadenza

Factory System: Infinity 12 speaker (front components have been replaced with Focal 165KR2)

My goal for the subs is for them to be musical while getting loud when needed. However, I need to retain as much trunk space as possible, so looking to go for a sealed enclosure. Seats do not fold down which led me to think about IB, but I'd prefer to retain use of the ski pass through.

That said, I own a CELESTRA DA2K monoblock amp that I plan to use to power the subs. RMS ratings as follows: 4ohm (650w), 2ohm (1,300w), 1ohm (2,100w)

Here are a few of the options I had in mind.

Please feel free to leave pros/cons, praise/hate, or add other suggestions.

IDQ8 V4 x 3

SD-2 8 x 3

IDQ10 V4 x 2

2D-3 10 (not yet released) x 2 or 3

If you have an authorized dealer near by, you might be able to talk them down a bit on the price.

Best bang for your buck usually involves building your on enclosure. You say you need to retain as m ugh space as possible. How much room do you actually have? And how loud is loud? I have a 10w6 in the ho box and people think it's loud but it's nothing compared to the 13w7 I used to have(don't get me wrong the 10w6 slams in my wagon and I enjoy it quite a bit)

I don't have any experience with the subwoofers your looking at so hopefully someone else can jump in on that.

I actually live over in Korea, out here in Cali for about three more weeks on business though. Prices in Korea are through the roof... My best option is to order online and have it or them shipped over there.

Firewall will not allow me to post pictures but if you google Kia Cadenza Trunk Space you can see what I'm working with. How loud is loud? Good question...Be heard a block or two away, is it possible?

Building an enclosure won't be an issue if need be, just looking for my best possible option out there.

13W7 sealed is lower/louder than a 10W6 in a HO box?

I only ran my 13w7 ported but I'm sure sealed would still get lower and louder than the 10w6. The W7 sounded like at least 2 good 12s or a 15. I've been thinking about getting the 12 w7 in the high output box or the 13w7 again. The 13 being a dual 3 ohm voice coil make it not the best choice for you amp. The 12 is a single 3 ohm voice coil so you'd be sending it between 650 and 1200 watts, which would be perfect for it.

Where about in Cali are you visiting? I'd try and find a shop that you could stop by and demo them.

But again, hopefully someone else jumps in because I'm sure there are cheaper options that'll fit your needs.

I'm in the Irvine area for now. Read a lot of great reviews on the JL's but that price tag is hard to swallow...it's doable but I would prefer the satisfaction of knowing I researched the best I could and made the best possible choice. Whichever way I go I know I will have regrets and what if's. Anyone else out there with suggestions?
