Hey guys. I've been browsing the forums for a few days and really like some of the info and opinons I've seen here.

I haven't done any systems in nearly 10 years and am completely out of date.

I'm looking for a nice set with 2 12"s amp and box for my '06 Mazda 6. My budget is around $700 give or take. I would love to go local but it mostly high cost low yield kicker, jl, fosgate etc. Just wondering what you all would suggest for high spl with some decent sq? Thanks.

Lots of options.

AP1500 for amp (160ish). DC Level 3 12's (400ish). Build your own box, of course (40ish).

Then you have 100ish left for wire, etc.

This would get loud and retain a nice sound.

***Just a quick idea, there are A LOT, LOT, LOT of options for 700. And don't let people tell you otherwise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif***

Well my carpentry skills aren't exactly up to par. I would prefer having someone make one, seen a few ppl on forum that can do it, or prefab if i have to.

As far as wiring power distribution battery etc i can get at cost from my job so not worried there.

I highly recommend having a box built for whatever woofers you decide on. 20% woofer/80% box.

How much power are you comfortable running? Not sure the amperage coming from those Mazda 6 stock alty's.

electrical etc.u only have a 90 amp alternator its going to be tuff to go over anything 1200rms

and do the big 3

I'm really leaning towards those sdc2.5's. Unfortunately they are sold out and i can't seem to find any retailers other than themselves right now. Those are really in my price point and seem to have a decent blend of sq in with spl as opposed to the dcons being more sq than spl. I really hate the whole trying to match sq to spl without hearing the subs in person.

I'm going to check one more local place that i believe sells diamond audio to check them out tomorrow. I just really want to get a feel for what i'm buying.

As a side note i have a 110 amp alternator in my car and already have an svc audio battery i got from a friend, not as nice as the shuriken but it will do. And all my wiring is marine grade 20% larger then standard wiring i get at cost. And i do plan on doing the big 3 as well.

The SDC's do get loud, and sound alright on most music. They should make you happy.

I'm running an AQ1200d on my little stock 80a alty and a shuriken BT-35 and it does alright. Pretty minimal voltage drop as long as I'm careful with gains.

It stays cool @ 1 ohm and is working well for me. Puts out rated @ 14.4.

Just a comment for a fellow mazda6'er, I have an AP15001d and an SAX125.2 off a optima red top group 35, with big 3 wiring.

No dimming on lights. Just a heads up on the electrical, do the big 3 a get a nice battery, you should be able to support some nice woofers with those.

does your car has a trunk or is it a hatch? Mine is a hatch and gets very loud with 2 13W7s, in my customer ported box. I have some nice box designs if you are using a hatch that might interest you, PM if you want them.
