Suggest some 6 1/2" subs...

I'm looking to replace the stock speakers in the rear deck of my wife's car. I'll be installing some CDT cl-61a's in front and wanted to put some 6 1/2" subs in the rear deck. She doesn't want a big sub in the trunk, so I figure a pair of 6 1/2s would be enough bass for her. They will be powered by a 75w rms x4 autotek amp.

I saw some subs on partsexpress, but was hoping you guys here could point me in the right way. I'm looking to spend around $50. Thanks.

tang band

elemental designs eu-700 or whatever their new one is

a few others will also be recommended

I'd go with more of a mid woofer myself and try to get 40-1k hz out of it at least- i like the way that range sounds for rear fill

Her car is an 04 Lancer. I don't really want to have to do any modifications. Just something that will fit in easily. She doesn't want a bunch of bass, just something to fill out her music. So that's why I figured two 6 1/2's would be more than enough.

Im not sure that you realize he was looking for 6.5 " subwoofers. For bass fill. Im not sure why you pointed out Xmax, but it doesnt make or break a woofer.
Yes, he said subwoofer, you gave him woofer. Xmax DOES make or break a 6.5" subwoofer. Limited Sd, limited Xmax = weak bass.

65x is a very good choice, but expensive. I'd go with the TBs.

I've got a Maxima with a 6.5" stock Bose subwoofer...but most people upgrade to a 10" or 8" sub for the rear deck so you could always go that route.?
Which "most people" are you referring to? Btw the oem 6.5's in the rear of the 4th gen are midbass's not subwoofers.

I like the price on these Audax subs. If it was for me, I'd probably go with the tang bands.
But I see the audax's are 6 ohm. What affect will that have on my amp? Or will my amp be too strong for them? It's a 75w rms x 4 autotek amp.
Im going to go ahead and guess that your 75 RMS is at 4 ohms. If you run a 6 ohm speaker you will get 50 watts RMS because the resistance is more. Wont hurt anything...

But again, I would go with the Tang Bands for sure. Better build quality IMO, more x-max, and they will squeeze more power out of your amp than the Audax ones
