If you want something "fast" go with a driver with low Inductance, the Le spec that are posted with the speaker. Only downside is that most companies don't do this, because the majority of users are misinformed and wouldn't know what it means anyway.
However, my front runners would be either a Mag V4 (249 shipped) or a DIYMA R12 (100 shipped). Both are excellent drivers, both have low inductance, both work in small sealed enclosures and do not require gobs of power.
It's a toss up between the two, but a few things to consider:
1) The Mag V4 weighs half as much as the DIYMA and is about an inch shallower as well.
2) The Mag will get you a warranty, the DIYMA will not (it's on clearance)
3) The DIYMA tends to be on the fragile side if you run a lot of power in a small enclosure, the Mag isnt.
If, you do not need anything loud, or obnoxious, the DIYMA IMO is a clear winner, you will not find the performance it offers at that price, anywhere. However, if you have the rare occasion where you do like it pretty loud, I'd go for the Mag, or a pair of DIYMAs, because they're so ****ed cheap.
My guess is that we listen to pretty similar music as well, and the DIYMA will not be leaving my car any time soon, I'm actually installing a 2nd here eventually.
