First off. I'm new here, so give me a break please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

Ok, I listen predominantly to a lot of heavy stuff, and IMO, the most important thing to me would be how well the sub would handle that really fast, gritty, and thumpy double bass. I don't need a lot of power (I don't really have a powerful budget either, so keep that in mind) and I've been thinking a nice 8 or 10 inch sub would suffice. I'm quite happy with the bass in my car already, so I'm not exactly mindset on actually gettin some sub's, but I'm curious about my options. I don't know if this helps, but my budget car setup consists of a DEH-2000MP Head Unit, and Pioneer TS Series 6x8 (4 way) in the front doors, and 6x9 (5-way) in the rear deck. If it's not too much trouble, could you guys recommend a lowly (but still good quality) priced sub, amp, box, and whatever else I need?

Thanks.

i'd get a good set of 6.5 components up front. you'll need an adapter for the factory holes. amp the components. ditch the rear speakers, unless you have people in the back alot, and put a decent ported 10 in the trunk. that's a good basic starting point. your deck should be fine.

wow thanks for the extremely fast replies. I really should've put this in the OP, but what about anything from Pioneer? I was kinda hoping to go with a full pioneer setup. I drive a '99 mazda protege, so the rear deck speakers are much needed IMO. Also, I don't know many car audio shopping sites (i'm talking about non overpriced ones like crutchfield) so it'd be really helpful for some links too.

IDQ, IDMAX, Arc Audio, RE SE, OZ audio Matrix Elite, Crystal Comp, Mag, FIQ.

There are tons out there. Mind you I have only heard the first 4 I listed there, but the others are supposed to be great too.

Woofersetc.com has some stuff. Pioneer does have some good gear, but not many people around here have heard their upper level stuff.

i'd go on ebay. pioneer makes great decks, and probably average subs and speakers. at least it isn't pyramid.

Honestly , an all pioneer setup wouldnt make you happy unless you spent a shit load and got the great expensive pioneer stuff.

Go to woofersetc or onlinecarstereo.com , look into Diamond or ID ( Image Dynamics ), Get 6.5 Components up front and amp for those and you really should ditch the rears or put some power to them atleast.

just remember when you buy online not all stores have warranty

usually subs and amps are fine

if you plan on buying a high end head unit later always make sure the store is an authorized seller

My Aq Hdc3 15's aer great on it, and i listen to the fastest of the fast double bass. And some super heavy shit. They do great!
any size sub can play any kind of music, fast or slow. and smaller subs can hit low also, just like any other sub. the key comes in box design. make it too big, and it gets sloppy and boomy.....usually. make it too small, and it gets punchier and loses low end......usually.

When you say 6.5 components up front, do you mean like woofers in my front door? And why do you say the rear would need amps? They get plenty loud and I'm really satisfied with them. Sorry, I'm really not too knowledgable about all this stuff.
