hey...i have a honda CRX with a panasonic CQ-C9800U head unit and a pair of 4" and 6.5" Infinity Kappa speakers...i have been lookin into either an alpine type x 12" or an audiobahn AW1206T...my car is pretty small (2 seater) with a hatch trunk so i figured 1 12" would be fine...please i need help on what sub would be best, what amp i would need to run it through and what box would give it the best sound...any other sub suggestions are welcome....thanks

heres the deal......... i currently have the option of buying 2 memphis HPO 12'' subwoofers. i cant find a buyer for both, so i've been wanting to find somebody that wans 1 of them, that would go half with me. then i'll take the other. so if you are interested, i can get you one for 120 shipped. they are fairly good sized 12's and for a hell of a price. if you are interested let me know and i'll go pick them both up (they are used though)

they are rated at "300" rms, but will handle plenty more than that. i've personally ran some of these woofers and i know from experience they are under rated. you can probably get several other forum members to vouche for that also.

box type, you would probably want to go ported. crx's will take care of the rest. they just get amazingly loud with next to nothing in it

amplifier..... you could run anything from 200 - 800 RMS and it would still sound excellent. they are very efficient, but will hold descent amounts of power.

but again, i need to find a buyer for 1, so i can get the other.....

I'd go with the Alpine out of those two but you can also look at some other online companies that have great products for much cheaper. Are you looking to stay mainstream?? I'd personally go with the RE SE 12 which is uder $200 and performs close to a JL W6v2 for half the price. They can get one to you by this time next week. The box is very critical but there are some pretty good ones that you can buy if you are not in to making them. As far as amps go I'd stick with some bigger companies like:

Rockrford

JBL

Hifonics

Kicker

do they sell RE SE's on their website...if not where can i find them and what amp and box would go with it? would a hifonics 1000 work? what box do u suggest? Q-logic? i heard godzillas blow up with alot of power

Yes they sell them on their site but you have to call them and they will hook you up.

The Hifonics BX1000d works great on that sub and that is what I'm running now. Also look at these below....you want something that will push 500-800 watts RMS.
