Not at all. you don't even have to use electrical tape; you can use duct tape. as long as it has a good connection, there will be no depreciation in sound quality(a bad connection can limit power flow and add resistance). I wouldn't recommend it because a solder connection will probably last longer, but you'll probably be fine if you do a good job.
