what's the difference between one surround and the other? how does #1 sounds and how does #2 does???

thanks

well the newer can handle more power (newer typeR). and that surround is sexier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif . But I think the new one has the same or more excursion then the old one.

I think those "accordian" style surrounds are ugly. But that's an aesthetic concern, and completely IMHO.

Now, a more relevant topic would be the composition of the surround - which might make a difference in the durability of the driver over a long time.

Typically the spider contributes 80% of the speaker compliance. What's that leave? Only 20% for the surround. So, the surround should not be your main concern, and isn't really what limits the speakers movement.

really?
anyone else think Alpine Type R subs sound bad??

Considering he listened to them in one of the absolute worst enviornments, I wouldn't put a lot of faith into that comment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
