Hey I was just wondering if a W7 would sound ok with kicker kx 600.1 amplifier. Im eventually upgrading the amp, I just wanted to know if it would sound ok temporarily. Also, would it put out enough power in order for the sub to not be damaged.

You will NEVER damage a sub by underpowering it (assuming you set the gain/bass boost correctly).

So yes, temporarily that should work fine. If you are thinking about getting a 13w7, just be sure to wire the coils in series.

Ok thanks! Do you have any idea on what the rms coming out of the amp will be since the sub is 3ohms? The amp is said to run at 600 x 1 at 2 ohms and 300 x 1 at 4 ohms, so would it be 450 x 1 at 3 ohms?

why do people think that u can harm a sub by underpowering it? 400 watts on a w7 isn't enough, unless it's only temporary. i'd look at the mtx 1501d (1500 at 2 omegas)
