Subwoofer pops when starting car

About 8 seconds after turning my car on or starting the electrical system, my subwoofer makes a popping noise, and then everything works fine. This has only happened with this amp/sub combo, and I haven't really done anything to try and stop it because it works fine after that. I think it does it right when the Amp starts up, just not sure why.

Thanks!

It's most likely the amp's fault. Most amplifiers have built in circuitry to prevent turn on thumps. This is usually just a simple little circuit with a capacitor that takes a few seconds to charge and turns the amp on once charged. If that capacitor or really anything in that circuit is starting to go bad it will stop functioning correctly and you will start getting turn on thumps.

Other than being annoying those thumps aren't really harmful to your sub.

Okay, that would make perfect sense.

I'm grounded fine as I've used other amp/sub combos with no turn on thumps. So I'll just have to deal, not like its annoying or anything.

ive had some brand new amps do that...how ever none of my us amps old stuff does it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
