Subwoofer Location

hey, i have a VOLVO S40 and i wnated to know if i could put two JL 10w3 subs on the rear shelf of the volvo or should i just put it in a box in the trunk??? also these subs are 4ohm so could u all suggest a good amp i could buy to power these subs and how i would wire it?

A mono amp, i think is the best for you. Get at least a good 400 watt RMS @2ohm power amp. it dosent matter who makes it; just make sure its a brand thats WHAT YOU WANT. who cares what some one els has or likes. LOOK AT THE RMS POWER. you said you had 4 ohm SVC? then you can wire them up as follows:

3 parallel =.66 ohm---no good for you!

3 seires/parallel = 2.7ohm---looks like your best choice!

not sure about 3 in series???

turn the amp half way up and you well sound BAD AZZ

for series you just add the impedences together

so 2 4 ohm SVC=8 ohms

so i have to look for amps what says at 8ohms = bla bla??? cause ihavent seen that around

look at the jl website and its the prowedge box 2 10s, it has all the specs there but i dont understand anything
