Subwoofer is heating up and smelling horrible.

I'm almost positive it is my gains. I read the tutorial on how to set gains from here:

What I understand is to disconnect speakers, get a 50db track and play it with a volt meter in the positive and negative speaker terminals. from there I dont understand what to do.

i dont know what hu you have,but try setting it on 80 istead of 100 or 200
