I have a kenwood 12 runnning with the 325watt rms kenwood amp and when i play music loud, it heats up to the point of blowing the sub. I also get static sounds in the rear speakers when this is happening. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Thanks everybody for fast responses. I've already blown one of the same sub but i thought it was a grounding issue. So I re-grounded and it is doing the same thing. I have some new kicker cvt's so i hope they will handle better.

ya ur most likely clipping the **** outa ur amp. ur amp usually needs to have an rms rating higher or atleast = to the subs rms rating. and if any lower u need to set ur gains properly so u wont clip the amp and distort ur way to a fried coil

I've been doing some reading and it was true about my gains. I was thinking gain in my guitar mindstade as louder and heavier. I guess it helps to read. I'm searching for a lesson on how to set gain properly.
