Subwoofer is F'd up, what is wrong?

pics of the coil? Just to put your mind at ease on that issue. The motor being shifted..well that is what it is..not much there. You will never know if it was from shipping it to him or him to you. Just get pics of the coil so we all can see if it was toast before shipping. Bad packaging will kill a sub quickly. I just got a TI in the other day that the guy just threw in a box with bubble wrap. Some how it managed to make it..who knows how the hell that happened.

Sadly I have no way to upload pictures anymore.. My only camera is on my phone and the only way I could upload was through snapfish and I get some bs "att postmaster delivery failure notice".

I have had subs shipped to me like that and come out fine as well. I believe I did a good job, could have been better if boxes had more size options but I did the best I could.

If you want, you can txt me the pictures and I'll put them up for you.

Cut the surround and spider suspension and pull the whole cone/coil assembly out, if it smells like burnt glue and the wires are everywhere then it's blown by someone. If the center pole is loose then pack it better next time you ship something. Not that hard to check how a sub got blown dude.

A good coil looks like this

In all honesty, the SE isn't worth the trouble/money it'd take to fix. You can buy one in perfect working order for $125 or so. It'll cost that much, or more, to have it repaired (once all the shipping back & forth is taken into account)...

Well the coil is perfectly intact though some areas are a little dark.

Thanks SPL, but I don't have the money right now, and I have no use for the sub ATM.

the se motor is my fav smalll motor. i can built it to handle 2000rms daily, dual stiff spiders and a copper 8 layer coil they are loud as hellz. the se and sx motor are the same just different soft parts.

if you dont want the motor mike i will pay the shiping.
