subwoofer - home setup sounds muffled/strange?

i've set up my subwoofer in my bedroom using a stepdown transformer which changes the voltage to 13.8v on to my flii trap 12 twin active encore subwoofer + amp (joined in one) however when i put the gain up slightly (around 1/4 of the toggle) it makes this strange sound that i can't really describe. Below are pictures and a video of this setup and problem.

that stepdown transformer has a very low amp output to connect that equipment.

3 amps equals 36 watts

Not near enough to run an amp with.

ahhh okay, so is that why the green light (the power light) fades every time it makes that noise then, also what kind of transformer would i need?

The amplifier you're using is fused for 25A of draw, so there you go. Get a plate amp, it would make things so much easier. Or find a home theatre receiver that will work for those speakers (which can't handle anywhere near 1200 watts, FYI). Unless you feel like adding a power supply/battery bank.

need to get a different power source try looking for a power supply that can supply 30 to 40 amps at least
