need some assistance.. i ave a fairly new sub that just quit working.. i have narrowed it down that it is NOT the amp.. The sub did not smoke, does nto smell, looks to be brand new internally, its not locked up i can push it and it goes in and out smoothly... what could make a sub quit working out of the blue.. the speaker wires are fine and the tinsels are still connected.... help would be appreciated

Measure the coils with a DMM.

also, you can measure the speaker output with a DMM - set it to VAC.

when you measure the coils, disconnect them from the amp and remove the sub from the box.

you can also use the DMM to measure resistance of the speaker wire - from the end at the amp to the end at the speaker.
