subwoofer help

Well, a DVC 4 Ohm sub is generally a bad match for a 2-channel amp.

Most 2 channel amps are not stable below 4 Ohms when in bridged mode.

Your choices are wire one voice coil to each amp channel with the amp in stereo mode

OR

Wire the sub's coils in series to an 8 Ohm load and drive them with the amp in mono bridged configuration.

Your friend would really be better off with either a monoblock amp or a DVC 2 Ohm P3 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

why not wire it in series and get a 4ohm load on the amp if its bridgable to 4ohm?
Because a Dual 4 Ohm sub cannot be wired to a 4 Ohm load by itself would be my guess.

DVC 4 Ohm in parallel = 2 Ohms

DVC 4 Ohm in series = 8 Ohms
