looking for subs. probably 2 12s. i listen to mainly rap, and a fair amount of rock. main goal = loud as shit while still sounding good.

id like to keep the subs under 300 a piece. even 200 would be nice.

what subs should i run?

most likely will be in a ported box. i like ported a bit better. my experience with sealed boxes has been $#!T, imo. but most likely due to $#@TTY boxes.

any help would be greatly appreciated. i had 2 alpine type R 12s n they sounded ok but id like to get a bit louder, n still sound good.

n im COMPLETELY open to amp suggestions. i KNOW theres got to be some good amps out there i dont know of, because im going to be purchasing a new amp as well.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

i have an SSD15 with copper coils. so from my exirience id say tune to32-34 with minimum recommended cubic feet. then feed them 900 each and it will be nice.

i went large with my box and am not happy with it.

other than that they are awesome subs for what you pay. i love mine it just needs a smaller box.

what would u suggest box-wise?(size/hz)n im open to suggestions on what amp 2 use as well. id like to get the most power (SAFELY) that these subs perform well with, and do it cheaply.
Best thing would be to go with what Fi suggests. You can also ask them directly on their forum.

I've been enjoying a couple JBL subs (see sig). They perform well so far. However, I've only had them for about 1 week.

Originally I had wanted to use a single 15" JBL and a ported box. I was advised againt the ported box in my reg. cab pickup truck. I guess you need a pretty large volume to get real benifit from a ported box...or so I've heard. I also couldn't actually fit a 15" sub depth behind the seats lol. So I now have two seperate, custom, sealed boxes that actually produce some very accurate sound imo. I've had JL audio and MTX subs in the past and they were pretty decent quality.

I believe that any product should perform well when properly installed and mated with other equipment. To me the quality is the most important thing. Thats why I researched what was in my sig against many brands and I found what I purchased to be the best boom for my buck thus far.

These threads, eBay guides, consumer reports etc were very helpful.
