Subwoofer Advice

Hey guys.

I know a bit about subwoofers, but apparently not enough.

Basically this is what I want: One 12" subwoofer around 400W RMS. I'd want to spend ~$100. Lower if possible, but if thats not possible alright.

I don't want anything super awesome expensive, just something that is a great value, has great SQ, but can get LOUD if I want it too.

I'd build the box myself, ported probably around 2cuft try to tune it down to around 25-30hrz.

Would the 350W RMS amp be enough?

Also, is there a good box design already laid out that I could just build that would suit my needs? (~2cuft ported, tuned to ~30hrz)

definately they are very efficient and can take alot more assuming everything is done right

and they control the cone very well so good sq

not a sq sub but sound very good and get loud

but if we get into this what is an sq sub,, its so user variable

 
I found one of the free boxes that I can make work for sure.

How many ft^3 does a single 12" Audioque S2 take? I cant find it on their site...

 
Which one would get louder on 350W, the Maw-12 or the Audioque SD212?

The AQ looks like a single coil 4ohm(hard to find specs on the site) and the Maw looks like dual 4ohm. So...

 
the SD 2.5 a look like dual 4 and have more useable xmax than the SD 2.

Not sure which would get louder, seems like you would be pretty set with either, though the AQ does look like a beefier motor structure. Both are pretty hard hitting bang for the buck.

Aq specs are on the order form.

 
I actually just bought a 650x1 @2ohms and 950x1 @ 1ohm
