subsonic filters?

It is breathing because it needs more air //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Actually, you may have a defective subsonic circuit!

Well whats weird is that I have 2 of them and they both do it. So is their any other reason it would do that?? I mean they work fine with the filter off but when I turn them off the subs will go in and out slow and its weird.

Also what are those in the yellow circle called?

uhm...... im not sure what thier called on an amp but they look like huge *** capacitors

also

Ive never had or heard of the problem your having with your subsonic filter

but it could be picking up interference also does it do it with the car off?

_check your rca's and cabling_

is it throbbing like a 1hz sine wave?

The sub "breathing" is just the lower frequencies being absorbed by the box. You can't actually stop the lower notes from reaching the sub, but the subsonic filter prevents them from actually being expelled by the subwoofer by moving them in the opposite direction from the rest of the frequencies being played, thus "keeping it in the box."

Ya around 1hz I guess... Well one of them went up in smoke. The radio was.on 0 and and the amps were on and all I did was flip the subsonic to off position and the sub started to go in and out aka motor boating and then the amp went up in smoke. I took the back off and one of those big round thing blew. The board and the rest look fine. What are they called and were can I get them??

With the VR2000 you can just bypass the capacitors by just taking it out and soldering the connectors together from the bottom of the blown capacitor. That's the nice thing about Crossfire amps. If you need a step by step just let me know. Crossfires can be used with a blown capacitor, and actually produce more wattage this way. If you've ever heard of "cheater amps," they use the same concept. Remove a capacitor, solder wire from where the capacitor was, and voila... you have have 15-17%% more wattage.

Plus it gets rid of the distortion that the caps add. Since the power has to go through less components, it has less chance for those "missing" components to add distortion.

So you will get more power, that is cleaner.

Finally, someone that knows what they're talking about
