subsonic filter setting

whats up all just finished installing my stuff today my amp is a dei 750d and a memphis pr 10d4 i have it in a 1cf ported to 40hz like the sheet said this i my first ported box so i did not know if i should tune it different or not anyway my question is what should i set the subsonic to. to me the box sounds sloppy didn't know if it was the tuning freq. or the filter. thanks for any info

ssf ~30hz.

set the gain at the max output of the EQ on the deck. tune your settings there no matter how it sounds.

Then bring your EQ settings DOWN until you like the sound. You're supposed to lower the valleys, not create bigger mountains.

Sloppy maybe the design of the box, woofer, etc.... try diff settings and see what you can do to like it better.

Worst case, spend $30 and a couple of hours to make a new box.

i don't have an eq sorry dei 750d i meant a directed audio but it is prob the box its the prefab box made by memphis with a slot port on the end salesman sold it to me cheep $100 for a new pr10" and a box i figured what the hell if it sounds like shat no big deal

Adjustable filter, may have to use a switch to enable it on some amps, but it usually is a dial (except for amps like the Alpine MRD series)

i guess i can't set it im lookn at my manual now and it shows ssf switch and the dial as the crossover 30hz to 250hz. it said cut off is below 30hz where would be a good point for my xover and how about woofer phase sorry for all the ?'s been out of audio for about 10 yrs

What amp do you have? The crossover you are speaking of is the LPF for the sub, not the SSF. Most SSF's are adjustable from 15-50Hz.

About the phase control, it should be good at 0, but play around with it and see where it sounds best.
