subs that people will hear

typical for a youngin....i wouldnt attack anyone for that its just a stage you be going through lol and i even bet zane has cut loose a time or 2. just gotta remember what it was like but some advice....dont get caught up in too much boomin...as it is bad on the ears..........and try to respect others as much as you can...nuff said

hey, in regards to the speakers, i would go with a nice pair of kicker solo-baric's the have great sq and high spl, the are fairly expensive but i think it would help you out with your goal

Just because you play your stereo loud where ever you go doesn't meen you have no life or does it?I thought life is what you make of it,not how you want it to be.I hate country music almost if not a 100%, but that doesn't meen i'm gonna hurt some turkey if he plays it on my street,I should but that would be stupid. (haha). They say life goes on boys.

I understand full well what it is like to be a young punk, I however fully understand what maturity is as well. Maturity not only means growing up, it also means being held accountable for your own actions. It also means responsibility. In this case specifically, the responsibility to be respectful of your neighbors by keeping your system down. Harleys are subject to the same noise ordinance laws that car stereos are, and just because you claim you dont see the Harley riders getting citations, doesnt mean that it doesnt happen quite a bit. I will reinterate, who are you trying to impress? Still cant answer that one can you?

I think it is our free right to keep it cranked.
It is also therefore my right by law to turn you in for any violations of the noise ordinances and your blatant disrespect for others.

So what you are basically saying is that everyone should alter thier lives and homes because you wish to be inconsiderate?

How immature are you?

Harleys and Car Stereos fall under the same noise ordinance laws. Air traffic, which is seldom lower than 15,000 feet to minimize noise, is governed under similar, yet slightly less strict noise regulations. This in part because of the tremendous decible output of the jet engines. However, at 15,000 feet or higher, most of the noise is lost in the sky and the soundwaves that actually make it back to the human ear; are merely a soft purr. The government and the airlines know thier jets are loud, this is why they impose minimum altitude restrictions. They are at least trying to be considerate of others...Over 95% of air traffic is business related and provides a valuable service and economic stimulus to its customers as well. What service or economic boost does playing a loud stereo do?

I'm a football player, i compete in weight lifting competitions, and i'm 20 lbs away from breaking the High School National Softmore Deadlift record...it's not like i'm a basshead that has nothing to do. And as far as playing my system loud at night...i have too much respect for that. I know i wouldn't do that, never. I'm just a basshead that's got a big head. I just want all of my friends and kids in my school knowing me for something about my car. I wouldn't mind making it really fast, but i'd probably kill myself. So getting a lot of bass is the next best thing. But again, don't get my wrong. I'm not that ignorant and disrespectful to go around blasting my system late at night. Besides, i really don't think that it'll be that loud. I think i'm gonna get 2-12 Alpine Type-R's with a JBL amp. i've never heard them, but i hear good things about them...

I will give you Kudos for being mature enough to observe respect for others by not playing your system loud. However, I will question why you need loud bass to achive approval from your friends? It sounds as if you have enough going that you should not need this. While I believe a persons car is a refelction of thier own personality, fact is, if you can not attract the attention you need on your own, you still have far greater things to work on than a stereo. People remember people for who they are, not for what they drive. Why not represent this sport in a posative way and discourage all those who disrespectfully play thier systems loudly? If you want a loud stereo, I have no problem with that whatsoever. However, there is a time and place for everything, Loud stereos, as well as speed cars have no place on the streets where they are a nuisance and a hazzard to everyone. Both are also illegal at certain points on the streets, this is determined by local and state laws.

I am sure that all the Car Audio and Performance Parts Manufacturers really want customers that will use thier equipment to break the law. What a wonderful image to reflect on thier company.....

as a former basshead who is now reformed into a sq nut, i just have one word of warning... if you enjoy your hearing, play it loud, but not too loud. i'm now 26, and have lost part of my hearing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif it's not the end of the world, but i get to spend the rest of my life saying: "huh?" and "what?" and listening to my girlfriend ***** because she thinks i'm ignoring her when she talks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I LOVE a system that hits hard, but I miss my hearing more, and now my tastes are a little more refined.... just my 2 pennies.....

Well put.

It is unfortunately a "phase" a lot of kids go through when they first get into car audio. Most dont know much, and just want to boom. You are also correct regarding your statement about me. I was one of those "no fear- In your face, all the time loud bass" people when I first began in car audio. Luckily, that did not last long! I remeber people turning thier heads as I drove by, looking for where the cool bass was comming from. Boy was I dead wrong about that, sure I would drive by bass cranked, and people would turn thier heads, but not to find the cool bass, but rather to get a description of the vehicle that was disturbing the peace. Time and time again, I would run into some of these people durring my daily work, and they would constantly tell me to keep it down. I never listened- at first, not until after many noise violation citations, and even having my car impounded. About the same time, I stumbled upon a little magazine known today as Car Audio and Electronics. I completely devoured the entire magazine, more times than I have fingers and was amazed that there was so much more and so much better to the car audio world than just loud. I learned that the key element to any well designed mobile audio system is that it must be enjoyable for me to listen to. - (emphisis on the 'me' part there) From that moment on, the stereo stayed down and I continued reading and learning about car audio, trying out and failing at many different system designs in many different vehicles. After failing (crawling) for so many times, Iand just wanting to give up, I finally did succede with a quality install that was something other than just loud. Entering it into a local shops competition, I placed 4th overall in SQ and SPL classes. From then on, I knew that I could do this and recieved the necessary motivation and learning to go on to quite a few successful installs in my car, and in other peoples cars. (Begining to walk) To date, I have come from the typical- Boom Car Kid, to a car that has placed 2nd in the IASCA SQ divison in the 601+ power class. (walking!)

The moral here- "You must first crawl, before you can walk."

I have been there, and have matured and educated myself beyond the feeble beginings; I explain things based on my own experiences and and aquired knowledge.

I still do not know everything, about car audio, and I will be the first to tell anyone this, however, If one refuses to continually research and learn, thier own systems will only be as good as thier weakest link. This doesnt have to be equipment, this can also extend to the system installer/owner.

Please, learn all that you can, apply it, make your own mistakes, and rise above them in time. And be respectful of others, and of the company's who provide you with your equipment.

On top of what Zane has said, let me also point this out: you think it's cool to be heard from 2 blocks away right? Wrong, lets factor in the 2 blocks, to the north, east, south, west, and so on, now figure out how many homes are occupied in this area, would you be suprised to know that you are actually being heard in a total of about 16 blocks. Do the math. Car audio is a sport, sports are played in a designated area, and those who wish to watch the event come out to see it by their own free will.

sure I would drive by bass cranked, and people would turn thier heads, but not to find the cool bass, but rather to get a description of the vehicle that was disturbing the peace
Thats right Zane, they don't turn their heads for the cool bass, they turn their heads to see what dumb @ss is making a fool of themselves.

You guys sound like your getting old from what i've been hearing. It's always fun to drive around in residential neighbourhood and crank it up so loud that you knock the (fine china) off peoples walls.

Yes, I am soo very old at 23.

What I am is mature.

What I am is responsible.

What I am is respectful.

What I am is intellectual.

What I am is considerate.

Now what do you have going for you? Its quite obvious the five above facets elude you.

Just let me know when you see Alma Gates drive by your house with "The Beast" cranked up and I will comment no more.

Its not a matter of age, it is a matter of maturity. The words common sense come to mind as well.

Tell me now, what do you intend to do when your own actions bring about more strict noise enforecement laws that will undoubtably put the mobile audio industry out of business? For future reference, look within the first few pages of the manual that comes with ANY piece of stereo equipment. They all go some thing like this:

Thank you for choosing ----------. We want you listening for a lifetime, the equipment you have purchased is capable of high decible output, please be considerate of the volume control, set it at a comfortable listening level where there is no distortion, and leave it there.

It's always fun to drive around in residential neighbourhood and crank it up so loud that you knock the (fine china) off peoples walls.
Fun for who? Those that have to put up with you? Your statement is filled with incosiderate and immature blah.

By the way- for the third time---> Who are you trying to impress?

still cant answer that can you? Mabey, I should put it this way, Who are you trying to impress, and why are you incapable of turning thier head without the bass?

zane i know your prolly the smartest guy in here...but stop your *****in. if i knew someone that *****ed as much as you about the same thing over and over..i would prolly slap them. sorry for bein a dick but im tired of hearin you complain

zane is just stating a very important point....there are alot of people that have no respect for others and act very immature w/ their own car audio system which therefore causes the rest of us to get stricter laws...and it is quite frustrating to have to deal w/ the stricter laws because people are irresponsible w/ their stuff...if someone wants to vent....let them...
