Hello All,

Yesterday while I was driving the subs on my pony stopped working.

Setup I have

  1. Aftermarket Sony Head Unit
  2. 2 Soundqubed HDS208's in a T-line box made by CSCStang
  3. Pioneer GMD9601 Amp, with Bass Boost remote installed and working

Things I have checked

Fuse under the hood for continuity - all good

the 3 fuses on the amp for continuity - all good

Checked the voltage at amp terminal - its >14 volts

Light on amp is solid blue, not red or blinking red so I guess its not in lockdown mode.

Increase the bass using Bass Boost knob, still no sound from subs

Subs are flexing when pushed with bare hands

Assumptions after above test

Fuses seem good

Amp is getting enough power

Subs do not have a stuck coil or something

Things which could be wrong

Amp is not throwing any output to the subs

Amp is not getting sound input from the head unit

Subs wiring has gone bad

Questions

How do I check above 3 things with a multimeter.

Any other things I should check

Use a 3.5mm to male rca adapter and plug your phone/ipod directly into the amp, bypassing the hu. If it plays, there's an issue at the hu. If it doesn't it's the amp.

not sure what happened ..

On my way to and from target, music system is playing , no bass.

I come home, park, still no bass..plug in the new Y cable into the amp (using my phone), 10 seconds later .we have bass...it vanishes again for 5 seconds and is back again.

I plugin the head unit input and all is well again, bass is back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Question though remains, is something going wrong with the amp? or it was just a one off thing. I did turn the car off a few times and played music again with everything working fine..Is it a bad connection somewhere? Anything else which I should double/triple check?

Could very well be the rcas
