subs shutting off

I have a Type R 12 and MRD-M500 in my truck. It was just in the shop fixing the A/C and they had to take out the whole dash. My sub works and sounds great, and then for about 2 seconds, it goes out, and starts playing again. I've checked all the wiring and fuses, etc, and I dont see a problem. Do you guys have any ideas what could be causing this???

yep, it is. They didnt do anything except to the dash, but I checked it anyways. This is really confusing me, I dont see anything wrong, but still the sub goes off for a second or two. It seems like it is just randomly doing it every 10-20 minutes. Its something that I can live with, its just frustrating because I have no idea what is going on.

The remote wire isnt connected to the gas or the brake, haha. I may have to do that installing one of my friends stuff. haha. It is the amp shutting off, not just the subs, I guess I should have made that clear before now. Ill keep looking, but im just at the point where i really dont care. Im about to get 2 10s instead of the one 12 and I'm putting a fiberglass box underneath my back seats, so I guess I'll sort it out then, if it is still doing it.

check your gains. Might be clipping, also make sure your running the proper ohms for that amp. running hot and cutting off is a common problem if you run 2 ohms on a 4 ohm stable amp.

It is stable at 2 ohms, and that is what I have the sub wired to. Granted that I dont know TOO much about the specifics of car audio, I dont believe it is my gain settings. (I know how to install and stuff like that, but I'm not quite an expert on setting EQ's and stuff like that..haha, Im learning though) There are 4 main settings for the gain on this amp, 0,3,6,9. (or I think this is what it is correct me if I'm wrong) and I have mine set on 3.

check your remote wire behind the deck... see how it is connected... if you say the amp is powering off... then maybe the remote wire is not connected properly... cut it and resplice it... solder if u wanna be sure
