Connecting power to the POS terminal

2002 GMC Sierra

Need a little help. The battery is a little different then what I’m use to, it doesn’t have the POS and NEG nubs where you would normally connect the clamps to. Instead it uses screws that go into the battery that have wide build in washers. I also have a little red box off to the side of the battery that’s labled Battery.

I could not figure out how or where to connect the “ring” connectors that came with my amp kit. So for now I have the bear wire being smooched by the POS washer. Any ideas? Pics would be great!

are you referring to a side post battery? if so, you could just unscrew the screw and put your ring in and then screw it back up.

The GM battery is kind of weird; it uses a screw that go directly into the battery. To make matters worse both the POS & NEG are about ‘3 from the main fuse box in the engine compartment. But you gave me an idea. Anyone else? Thanks!

You need a side post battery terminal which replaces the stock battery post and has a spot to attach a ring terminal.

Thanks again Kaezoo for helping me out,

I ordered the platinum Stinger GM side post battery terminal along with a platinum ring terminal. The should be here next week. I hate the gold versions, looks tacky.
