So, i got two Sa-8's DVC wired at one ohm. ( their 4 each). I checked the wiring before the install and got 1 ohm resistance so i assume their hooked up right. Only one works and its hooked the the other sub. What i mean is their is two bolts on the box. the wires that run from that go to the messed up sub. Then, wires go from that sub to the next. Im not sure what to do. Do i start setting gains and see if it begins to work? Do i send it back? Its a brand new Sa-8 from Amazon.

first logical thing to determine if one sub is bad is to hook them up individually to the amp and see if they play.
Ok. after further testing. The sub seems to be playing faintly. I mean faintly. I set the gains and while doing that my father decided to mess with the lights and radio. I smelt a VERY faint smell. It didnt seem like smoke.

While setting the gains, i could never get the sub to distort when turning up the volume on the HU and the gains at 0. I just had it really loud then set the gains, low pass ect. Is the sub blown? It still feels the same as the other. Since it seems to play softly, does that mean its something else? Also, should they get hot?

Can i take them out without stripping the wood? When i first tested the ohms. Everything checked out. Cant remember the exact number.

3.9 on terminals and then 2.1 with terminals wired together. So that checks out. Should i hook it up solo? it smelt weird inside the box.

Last year I had an XFL15 that just quit working right after I hooked it up. I was pissed and just about to email the guy I bought it from. But, I said to myself, check everything inside the enclosure before you make an *** of yourself. So I took the sub out and one of the wires had come loose inside the box. It was my screwup.

Moral: Check the subs connections inside the box.

yes run it by itself and see what happens.
Its barely moved. Like just a little. The volume wasnt too loud and gain were low but it still wasnt loud.

I'm betting you got the sub from an amazon dealer that sells B-Stock and that sub has some issues.
The seller was WoofersEtc. they have excellent feedback
