ok this was happening when i had 3 10" L7s on a Hifonics BXI 1605D running 2.67ohm i belive in a sealed box and whenever i changed the song the subs would pop really loud and it sounds like shit HU was the one in my sig bad RCA's?

also my homies 2 12" Lightning Audio VC2 subs in a JL 1000/1V2 ported box were doing the same thing i gave him the deck in my sig so now he has that deck im thinking either the rca's are bad or the RCA connects in the deck are bad because we have never had this problem before and it just started doing it now.

its his old deck but mine now when i had a Alpine 9852 it still did it but it was never so loud and it was just when i turned it on of off with the EQ still up so i started to turn the EQ off then the deck but i dont get why there popping when we change the song.

iv heared the RCA's might need to be grounded off would that fix this problem or could it be the ground to the amp?

rca's are made up of 2 conduits....the center pin carries an AC signal(the sound) and the outer ring when looking at the plug is ground and is shielding.

basically you are trying to get the outer ring grounded to a proper ground

I'll find pics

would i just wrap the wire around the 3 little flaps that go on the outside of the RCA connector when there pluged in or should i wrap the wire on the inside pole that goes into the deck?

also do i do this with the RCAs that go to the deck from the EQ or the ones going from the amp to the EQ?

this is one way

strip a 3" say piece of 16awg wire and just pull the rca's out and in between the outside of the output and the rca sheliding u put that wire and push in like normal. then find a screw on the back of the head unit and it wrap the other striped end around that and screw it back down. that should do it ive seen 3 ppl do it that way. make sure u do that with both channels thoe.

would i just be able to run the wire from the RCAs to the ground wire coming out of the deck or putting it on the screw is better for it?

the only ground is the one from the wire harness and i belive the antenna, its just sitting in the space where it goes its in a grand marquis its not bolted down or anything if thats what your talking about
