subs not working..

My subs, which had been working for several years, just stopped working a few months back.

I have been unable to figure out why. I checked all the wires (from the h/u to the amp to the subs) and everything seems fine. All the fuses are good too.

In those few months, every now and then the subs will come on for like 20 seconds and then disappear for a long time again.

The amp is on and has a green light, but I still think that it may be what's wrong. Is anyone familiar with this problem and know what to do?

What kind of subs are they? My bro had a Sony Xplod sub that he wired up with 2 rockford fosgates, I think he had it down to a 1.66 load or something, but he wired them so when one sub stopped working, they all would. Sure enough...it was the xplod that did. He later found out that one of the solder joints was loose, so that might be your problem, just a thought though.
