Subs not getting any power

Just installed 2 AQ SDC's (D4) to a AQ1200D. Wired it up...amp turns on and the subs aren't getting anything.

I wired the both subs together to try and get 1ohm. Wired them up and put it to my DMM and it read just north of 1ohm (like 1.3). I hooked up the 1 positive and 1 negative to my amp. So I would figure it's drawing 1ohm from the amp. When the amp is off, I get about 1ohm. When the amp is turned on my DMM goes crazy and reads either like -16ohm or 14ohms.

So, I'm really just puzzled on why it's doing this and the subs aren't getting power.

Check my power and ground. I get 14.2 and the amp while idle.

My guess is that I wired the subs wrong, which I don't think I did. But I'm hoping it's just that.

Messed with my HU's EQ settings and that didn't do anything.

Anyone got any clues?

1. Always have EVERYTHING off when reading ohms. The slight transition in cone movement or vibrating will throw the ohm readin out of wack.
2. Did you check the slave/master switch on the amp? (switch should be on master)
Yes. It's on master.

My guess is that I wired it wrong (which is just dumb on my part).

I wired both the subs (-)'s and (+)'s together. Then connected both the remaining (-) and (+) on each sub together with extra speaker wire. And then I took the (+) of 1 sub and the (-) of the other and hooked up another speaker wire and ran that run of 1 (+) and 1 (-) to the amp.

It read close to 1ohm, but it just doesn't look right.

Would it read different say if I just ran the (+) and (-) off the 1 sub and go straight to the amp? Instead of the (+) of 1 and the (-) off the other?

Wow, that looks mad confusing what I typed. Hopefully someone can make that picture out. If not then I guess I'll just draw one up how I wired it.

If your getting a 1ohm load at the amp then your wiring is fine. Now do you have ANY output or there is none whatsoever?
Nope, no output. Not even anything really small where I can barely feel it. Just none whatsoever. Which is why I'm puzzled.

I just re-wired it and got nothing. Then I just hooked 1 sub up, nice and simple, 2ohm right to the amp. Still nothing.

Checked the power, ground, remote, and RCA's.

My other guess is that the RCA's are giving me the problem, which I'm hoping they aren't because they're brand new and it would be an ultimate pain to re-wire/replace just to see if that's the problem.

Don't feel like editing my last post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I played around with the gain (I know it's not a volume knob) just to see if I could get any kind of response whatsoever (then take it from there), same with LPF, SSF, and Boost. Tried not to play with it too much. Still got nothing.

I just can't figure it out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I might just do that.

I'll give DJ a call tomorrow afternoon after work and see if he can help me out. I've searched and found a few people had the same problem. I'm guessing I don't have anything set right. I'll ask him before I mess around with it even more. Hopefully this can get figured out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

is the amp on? remote wire? just a thought
Yea, amp powers on. Remote wire seems fine. Amp gets 14.1 at idle.

I would figure I'd get at least some output from the subs, even the very slightest vibration just to know something is at least going on. But it's nothing at all.

Hmm....

Bump.

Gave DJ a call and he helped me solve the issue. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I was very iffy turning up the gain and filters yesterday which is why I wasn't getting any output. I really did not want to crank everything at first.

I had everything wired well all along.

Great service and great equipment!

Will do a mini build log later tonight when I got time.

Thanks for the help to all the above.
