Subs needed for Volvo please help

Hi,

I am going to say straight out that I know nothing about car audio at all. I have a 2001 Volvo v70 glt and want to get a system in it. I have about 1500-2500 dollars to spend and have no idea what to buy, (thought that the more watts the better but i am sure that is not the case). all i know is that i want 2 12's, amps, speakers aswell as a headunit, but, at this time subs are the most important to me, and i can postpone speakers for a bit. I want subs that slap extremely hard, but that don't sound bad doing it. Could you guys help a brother out? thanks in advance
