Air Space?

I have a custom-made sealed box that has 1.0 cubic foot of air space. I was really hoping to buy a pair of 10" Kicker CVR's... but I'm not sure I have enough air space in the box.

What can happen to the subs if there is not enough space? Or should I just downgrade to a pair of 8" Kickers (eh...). Thanks in advance for any help. It is much appreciated.

I might end up doing that - but can somebody tell me what can happen to the subs if there is insufficient air space?
