if they are rubbing, you should be able to hear/feel it when you push in on the cone

hrmmm weird. ive abused the hell out of my orion runningi t on 16v .5 ohm and everything...interesting. ive never had that problem with mine.

i had the same problem.your amp has burned IRF31N20D mosfets.

this is caused of a bad IC inside.it's the only one that is replaceable.it is a bad batch of 2500D's.probably is the first version.

the only problem is that you can't just buy this IC and replace it because it's programmable only by ORION!!!

so you have to buy a programmable one from ORION and replace it.also you will have to replace your burned IRF31N20D's(they may be 1-3 mosfets)

if you have warranty just sent it back to ORION.

if you get it fixed,don't run under 1ohms.it doesn't take it for too long.

i was beating mine for 6months hard under 1ohms(0.65 actually)and one day died...suddenly:crazy:

So Undercoverpunk took a look at it a said it sounded like the small dust cap was rattling around, i will take his word on that one. But i have to run it free air to see if it still does it.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Some strange unusual problem, didn't sound like fried coils to me, it almost sounded like a rattle, but it was coming from the subs. I've seen an SX have the inner dustcap come loose, but the odds of that happening to two of them is slim. we can hook them up to my KX650.4 and see if they sound normal again.

I'll get with you again when we have more time and we'll isolate the problem for sure and you can get it fixed. The problem luv2bass explained sounds odd but feasable from what you told me.

By the way Chris is a pretty cool guy, didn't talk to him for that long, but he seemed nice.

pooor 2500d...... i will mourn for it.... ahhh my dream amp... but yea i replaced some mosfets in a burned hifonics and it was a ***** i would def see if ORION could help yah out....

Replacing MOSFETs is not that hard.

I hate my 2500d. It sucked balls.

But anyways, we'll be able to take a look at the amp as well Chris. Like Jason said, to try to isolate the problem.
