subs making burping noise

when i turn up the gains or the volume the subs make a burping noise?

its not noticeable in the car but when u pop the trunk it sounds awfully burpish.. is this normal?

is it bad for the sub or what?

they don't make that sound all the time.. they barely do.. but they do once in a while..

Did you take the sub out and look at it? Personally, I've seen burping in 2 scenarios.. clipping/bottoming out, or what sounds like burping, when a tinsel comes loose and slaps against the cone.

nah they're brand new..

so i'm sure its clipping.. i guess i'm underpowering them...

so what could i do? jus turn the gains down and make sure they don't clip?

are you sure you're not overpoering them? The same thing happened to me. It's hard to believe you're underpowering them if it only happens when the gain is all the way up. Check and make sure your running enough power.
