if his alt wgeas going bad it would be worse with the car off no matter what since there is no voltage entering the battery when car is off and when car is on some is (if any if that was true)

Im having a feeling its your exhaust as well. If its stock exhaust than its gotta be something within your charging system, or something that is using more power than your system, only when the car is on.

Ive noticed with my car, when its on my dash lights dim because of the bass, but when the car is off, they dont dim.

I have been testing with the car parked at an idle when the engine is on,so unless i had a 454 with no cats or mufflers then it might drown out the bass.Also visions hooked all of this up and i dont think they are very good.So that being said i am going to try what the one guy said and unplug the cap.
