subs killing battery

The l7 that I installed on my 97 civic, has been draining my battery, and now when I stop at lights the car starts to shake and the battery light comes on. new alt maybe?

upgrade your batt and see whats up..might be a cheaper solution

Does the car run fine without the sub on? If so, replace your alternator with a larger one. Also upgrade your wiring.

Im going to search the "BIG 3" because it got me wondering. Ive heard it a lot recently but havnt looked into it.

My battery on my Tacoma doesnt die while driving obviously or when the key isnt in the "on" position, but if its a click forward it dies pretty fast.

Maybe the BIG3 is what I need, to?

the big 3 ist something recent lol.

just because your having bad voltage drops doest mean you need a bigger alt. for a daily driver, you dont need a bigger alt. just big 3, deep cycle batt. or larger batt. and then see where you are at.

ps. make sure all your connections and grounds are with bare metal. and get a multimeter if you dont already have one. you need to know how your voltage is doing. your smart for turning it off for now, low voltage can kill your amp.

Civics around your year are notorius for having small alts

All So if it just started doing this you may need to have the batt and Alt checked either one maybe going bad. If the batt isn't holding much of a charge and alt cant keep up you will have this problem and vice verse if alt is starting to go it may not be putting out the amps to help charge batt so you are choking the car.

i was talking to some people at work, and they mentioned that if the battery was being killed, the car wouldn't have the juice to start. But since it does i think it might not be electrical.

also, if I run the ground to the negative on the battery itself, will it be more efficient, or just mess everything up.
