Subs In Dorrs

I got a 2001 dodge ram 1500 extended cab, and when i put the 5 1/4's in the two rear doors, i noticed that there was a lot of room in there. Can I carve a hole in the door and plastic door panel and put some subwoofers in the doors? If so can i put 12,s? In the truck so far i have 2 - 6x9,s in the front doors and the 2 - 5 1/4's in the rear doors and 1 - 12" L5 in a ported box being powered by a 1100 watt mono amp. The sub is in a massive 1.7 ported box taking up my whole back seat and i would like the space back. I was thinking of the 12" kicker comp's. Feedback is appreciated

I think a blow through would be less work, but that is just me

Or get some shallow mounts and make a smaller box.
