I just put silicon on my box to make sure no leaks were in it. when i put my subs back in, i noticed that they were really tight against the box opening as in the basket was really close to the mdf circle cut out. could that be a problem of cause some unwanted vibrations in the box? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

I wouldnt think so... I would say the tighter the better. You mean the magnet/motor is touching the MDF?
no not the motor. i meant the part that is touching the mdf circle cutout in the fromt of the box, not the part that is showing where the screws are but the part right underneath it ( the basket).

i think that air is leaking out the front of the box, where the sub is screwed in. you guyz think that if i put silicon around it, it will be hard to get off/take out later on?

It won't be a problem as long as it rubbing on the basket doesn't cause the sub not to sit tottally flat on the box and cause leaks.

Edit: whoops. too slow.

Ya, just get a sander and go around the edge until its wide enough. I use a dremel, but elbow grease will work.

edit; To slow yet again.

better get some rough *** sandpaper...

Hey im kinda have the same problem as you but my cutout is a little too big. I think I have massive air leaks in the front cause my subs are a little bit smaller than the cutout. So can I just put some silicon around the cutout to make it smaller, or how would I use the weather stripping. I think which ever gets harder, and can stick to the cutout better would work for me. So what should I get? The circle is probably off by less than 1/2 of an inch. Sorry if I'm thread jacking but my problem is so silimar.
